Duplicate or Conflicting Identifier Errors

What to do when an ISRC or UPC is already in use.

Last updated September 8, 2026

Kalmori validates identifiers when you enter them and again during review. You may see:

  • "ISRC already assigned to another recording" — the code you entered belongs to a different track in the system.
  • "UPC already in use" — another release already carries this code.
  • "Invalid format" — wrong length or characters.

How to resolve

  1. Check you copied the code correctly from the original release.
  2. If the code genuinely belongs to this recording/release (a migration), tell Support so the conflict can be reviewed.
  3. If you are not sure the code is yours, clear the field and let Kalmori assign a new one.
Warning:

Warning: Do not type a made-up code to get past the check. Identifiers are how you get paid; an invalid one is caught in review and delays the release.
